The G.O.A.D. Love Box is an outreach effort that was started by our former Outreach Chair, Patricia McCullough and current President, Pat Nabinett. This tradition of sending pampering products ordered from The Body Shop to deserving individuals who have endured unexpected hurdles in their lives or to acknowledge people who unselfishly perform acts of kindness in their every day lives are the individuals that we would like to celebrate. The Love Boxes are distributed quarterly with special distributions for Mother's and Father's Day; Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Month; and Valentine's Day.
Our primary method for identifying Love Box recipients are from G.O.A.D. members or from referrals who knows about our mission. We are happy that the response from this project continues to be extremely favorable and we are excited to be in our 3rd year of distributing love boxes.
If you know of a male or female that you would like to nominate, please send us the following information:

Love Boxes were distributed to 5 Breast Cancer survivors during the month of October. In addition, a gift bag of bath and body products were donated to the "Hair by Mae Girls Day Out", event n honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At this event, several women received a free hair makeover courtesy of professional hair stylists in Prince Georges County. The total value of the love boxes including shipping was $439.
We honor the following Love Box recipients:
Let us continue to pray for all who are currently fighting or have survived this disease that has affected so many.
For Christmas, we had planned to send out 8 Love Boxes for the holidays. However, only 2 recipients were identified. Shatrina Freeman was sent a Love Box to use as she recuperates. In addition Kelly Brown will be sent a Love Box at a time that is more convenient for her.
Sending Love Boxes to individuals in the DMV are in tune with our outreach efforts to attempt to brighten someone's day at a time when a box filled with pampering products may be needed most.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to identify individuals who deserve a Love Box. Please include their name and why you feel that they deserve to be gifted a Love Box. If they are selected, we will follow up with you to obtain their mailing address.
