Reflecting on the past couple of years, how many times have you turned on the television and heard horror stories of individuals losing their homes and jobs, and people not knowing where their next meal would come from? How many social media posts have you seen calling for prayer warriors to pray for members of families who are sick or near death? How many announcements have you seen informing us of dates and locations for upcoming food distribution and requests to support the local food banks and other nonprofit organizations? We believe that you'll agree that there have been far too many instances.
Are you interested in taking an active role in helping to be a solution to some of the problems in your community? If so, consider joining forces with Giving Others A Dream (G.O.A.D.), an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit where dedication to providing support and outreach to persons who are in need and reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is just 1 of the many efforts we are committed to doing.
The reminders of the emotional rollercoaster rides described are just a few examples things that have negatively affected and continue to impact our communities. We continue to have students who need assistance with college tuition, families who suffer food and shelter insecurities, and veterans who need food, shelter, personal hygiene, and other essential items.
